feel. think. create.Welcome to Lucky Ginger Studio!
Click here for new images the "Lost City Bus" project.I have always been curiously drawn to photographs. As a very young child, I spent hours digging through vintage family photo albums and poring over portraits. When I was 10, I told my maternal grandmother that when she died, all I wanted her to leave me were the old photos.
About the same age, I picked up my first camera. By my mid-teens, I was using a 35mm Canon. I have remained loyal to Canon ever since (cheating on the brand occasionally with a medium format Holga). I shoot both film and digital.
I feel compelled to create what wants to be created, so I photograph places, people and things that interest, intrigue, inspire and humor me.
My work manifests itself in several directions:
I enjoy
travel photography, which primarily fuels my product line
I incorporate my photos into
note cards, or
bag tags,
note pads and more
I
exhibit in group and solo shows
I do
commercial work for clients who need images for their web sites or print collateral
I take
environmental portraitsMany people ask where the studio name came from (and about as many assume my name is "Ginger."). So, to set the record straight:
Lucky was a huge stuffed dog I won in an art contest when I was about 6 or 7. Ginger was my first Golden Retriever.
